Brief History of the Company
The Company was established under the name of PT Duta Intidaya on 16 June 2005, in accordance with Deed of Establishment No. 16 dated 16 June 2005, drawn up before Ukon Krisnajaya, S.H., Notary in Jakarta, which has been ratified by the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia based on Decree No. C-20675 HT.01.01.TH.2005 dated 26 July 2005. As at the end of December 2023, the Company has 159 stores operating across Java, Bali, Sumatera, Kalimantan and Sulawesi Islands. Most of the stores were located in shopping centres, surrounded by residential area (neighbourhood shopping malls) with high consumer density. The Company also has its own online store and operates other online official stores at leading marketplaces in Indonesia.
The Company is a member of the AS Watson Group and the sole and exclusive licensee of the Watsons retail brand in Indonesia. The licensor, AS Watson Retail (HK) Limited, is also a member of the AS Watson Group which is the world’s largest international health and beauty retailer with over 16,400 stores in 28 markets, more than 130 eCommerce platforms, and about 158 million loyalty members. Watsons has been named as No. 1 Personal Care and Beauty retailer in Asia in Campaign Asia’s Top 50 Customer Experience Brands survey. As the licensor, AS Watson Retail (HK) Limited provides marketing and technical support to the Company.

2015
The Company operated 46 stores with a net revenue of more than Rp190 billion.
2016
The Company became a public company listing its shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on 28 June 2016. The Company operated 59 stores with a net revenue reaching approximately Rp237 billion.
2017
The Company operated 80 stores with a net revenue of more than Rp363 billion. The Company raised funds of over Rp65 billion through a rights issue exercise, which was completed in January 2018.
2018
The Company operated 105 stores, including new stores in South Sulawesi and East Kalimantan. It also opened online stores (such as at Blibli.com marketplace) which, together with offline stores, generated a net revenue of approximately Rp547 billion.
2019
The Company operated 140 stores, including new stores in several cities in Sumatera Island, and opened two other online stores at Bukalapak.com marketplace and bima+ app. The Company also launched the Watsons One Pass program enabling its members to enjoy regionwide privileges. In total, the O+O business generated a net revenue of approximately Rp1,095 billion.
2020
The Company launched its first Watsons street store with a pharmacy concept in the Greater Jakarta area, bringing a range of its health and beauty products to the neighbouring community. The Company also introduced the Watsons Send service, which enabled its customers to make orders via the WhatsApp mobile app and receive their products in less than two hours without having to leave their homes. With a total of 156 stores and its O+O business, the Company generated a net revenue of approximately Rp886 billion.
2021
The Company opened 11 stores with pharmacy street store concept which were enthusiastically welcomed by the community. To complement the O+O platform strategy, the Company launched Watsons ID App 3.0 with an augmented reality feature which enhanced consumers’ shopping experience. With a total of 160 stores combined with its online business, the Company generated a net revenue of approximately Rp971 billion.
2022
The Company opened 10 stores, including eight community pharmacies, and introduced the Click & Collect Express (CCE) and Home Delivery Express (HDE) features in an effort to be more accessible to its customers and to reinforce the O+O strategy. The Company also re-launched Watsons Club, which was the new face of its membership program with the aim of maintaining customer loyalty. In total, the Company generated a net revenue of approximately Rp1 trillion.
2023
The Company presented Watsons #BeautyMyWay with various surprises such as offering up to 70% discounts on favourite skincare and cosmetic brands, and these were available in seven cities at Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya, Sun Plaza Medan, DP Mal Semarang, Summarecon Mal Bekasi, Deli Park Medan, Panakukkang Mall Makassar and Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya.
The Company announced the expansion of its Home Delivery Express (HDE) service to three new cities (Medan, Makassar and Samarinda). In collaboration with leading and trusted delivery service providers in Indonesia, Home Delivery Express (HDE) orders would be delivered within two hours of ordering to the customer’s home from the nearest Watsons store within a range of up to 600 kilometers. Currently, the Home Delivery Express (HDE) service can be enjoyed in major cities in Indonesia.
The Company recently launched the new G9 concept store at Pondok Indah Mall 2 Jakarta, which offered a more refreshing shopping experience for customers.
